Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical Intermediate unit in a part-time day shift with rotating weekends. The role requires current Illinois RN licensure and ADN with BSN within three years.

The unit features a 26-bed fast-paced environment with strong team governance and multidisciplinary rounds at the bedside. Ideal candidates will have BLS, strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, and a commitment to high-quality patient care within the NM system.

Qualifications

• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward attainment of outcomes
• Directs care and determines the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and ancillary staff. Creates a documented plan focused on outcomes and communications
• Participates in shared governance and unit projects
• Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions in the health record and personalizes the care plan
• Uses best available evidence, including research, to guide practice decisions
• Adheres to Illinois RN standards and evaluates compliance with policies and ethics
