Job summary

UC Health is seeking a Part-Time Registered Nurse (RN) for the 4th floor Med Surg at West Chester Hospital for a Day Shift. The unit is a 36-bed surgical/trauma area with 4–6 patients per nurse, requiring teamwork and rapid decision making.

The RN will deliver high-quality care, collaborate with the healthcare team, and support patient and family education while maintaining standards and policies. Current OH RN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Associate's Degree, minimum required.
• BSN, preferred.
• Current OH RN License.
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc.) current before end of department orientation.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Med Surg patients on the 4th floor.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and staff; set priorities based on assessment.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment and discharge planning.
• Identify and respond to diverse patient needs including behavioral health considerations.
• Document nursing process accurately and timely per policy.
• Serve as a resource and mentor for new staff and float pool as needed.
• Pursue ongoing professional development to improve patient care.
