Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a clinically competent Registered Nurse for a 26-bed fast-paced, high-acuity Intermediate Medical-Surgical Unit (3C). The role requires coordinating nursing care for acutely ill patients, collaborating with the care team, and adhering to ANA standards of practice. A BSN pathway is supported for ADN holders within three years.

Qualifications

• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes patient data to inform care plans.
• Directs nursing care and coordinates with nursing assistants.
• Collaborates with patients, families, physicians and staff to create a care plan focused on outcomes.
• Participates in shared governance and unit projects.
• Documents patient responses and evaluates progress against plan.
• Utilizes evidence-based practice to guide care decisions.
• Must hold Illinois RN license.
• Must maintain BLS certification.
