Job summary

Mathnasium of Downtown Silver Spring in Maryland is seeking a Part-time Math Instructor/Tutor to deliver engaging math instruction using the Mathnasium Method. You will help 1st-12th grade students build confidence, work with a small team, and support families with a positive, professional attitude.

Hours are after school and on weekends, typically 6–10 hours weekly with potential for more. Applicants must pass a math literacy test, background check, and provide work authorization.

Qualifications

• Ability to do math through Algebra 1 (higher math preferred).
• Engaging with students and inspiring learning.
• Willingness to complete ~20 hours of training in 1 month.
• Capable of multitasking with multiple students.
• Professional, friendly communication with families and staff.
• Available for 6-10 hours across two shifts plus weekend coverage.

Responsibilities

• Use the Mathnasium Method and teaching constructs.
• Maintain availability and update the center with your schedule.
• Continuously strive to become a great instructor.
• Attend staff meetings about every 4-6 weeks.
• Teach in a way that makes sense to students and provide constructive feedback.
• Support center administrative tasks and daily clean-up.
