Job summary

Bellingham Public Schools, Joseph F. DiPietro Elementary School, Bellingham, MA, is seeking a Math/ELA Tutor for 19.5 hours per week for one year. The role provides small group and in-class support in ELA/Math with data-driven instruction and RTI planning.

Responsibilities include working with teachers and specialists, documenting progress, and incorporating technology. Prior MA ELA/Math experience and relevant programs are preferred; position is part-time.

Qualifications

• Completed at least two years of study at an institute of higher education, obtained at least an associate degree or meet a rigorous standard of quality and be able to demonstrate knowledge of, and ability to assist in instruction in ELA/Math.
• Experience teaching ELA/Math at K-3 levels per MA Frameworks preferred.
• Experience with DIBELS, UFLI, TOSWRF, and Running Records is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide small group, in-class and out-of-class instruction in ELA and/or Mathematics.
• Administer and document formal, informal and progress monitoring assessments.
• Meet with math/literacy specialists and Intervention team to discuss student progress.
• Create and update RTI plans and reports.
• Attend professional development, planning, and parent meetings.
• Incorporate technology in tutoring sessions.
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff and families.
