Job summary

RFCUNY’s Bridges to Academic Success program seeks a part-time instructional coach at The Graduate Center, NYC, to support newcomers and English learners with math, language, and literacy instruction. This role requires NY residency and frequent travel within NYS.

You will design and lead professional learning for math teachers, co-teach strategies, analyze needs assessments, visit sites, and manage a teacher cohort across districts, collaborating with the Bridges team to accelerate student

Qualifications

• New York State residency required; travel around New York State 3-4 times per month
• 3+ years experience teaching literacy
• 3+ years experience working with and teaching English Language Learners (SIFE or newcomers and LTELs)
• Experience coaching teachers
• Experience designing and facilitating professional development for teachers
• Familiar with curriculum development and backwards design
• Ability to plan and facilitate PD in face-to-face and online sessions
• Bachelor's degree required

Responsibilities

• Lead online and in-person professional learning for Math teachers related to Bridges math materials and planning
• Co-teaching strategies and supporting implementation of Bridges resources
• Analyze needs assessments and conduct outreach/site visits with teacher/district stakeholders
• Manage a cohort of teachers and maintain relationships across districts and schools
• Collaborate across Bridges team; perform other duties as assigned
