Job summary

The Research Foundation of The City University of New York (RFCUNY) seeks a part-time math curriculum developer with a language and literacy background and experience teaching English learners. Responsibilities include revising units, coordinating timelines, and coaching staff to implement math curricula with effective scaffolds.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience teaching math at the secondary level.
  • 3+ years experience teaching literacy.
  • 3+ years experience working with and teaching English Language Learners (SIFE or newcomers LTELs).
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and design, including backwards design.
  • Ability to implement feedback from multiple stakeholders into deliverables.
  • Experience coaching teachers and leading professional learning seminars.
  • Experience planning milestones and meeting deliverables across multiple workstreams.

Responsibilities

  • Revise two units of study based on sponsor and review feedback, including teacher lessons and student materials.
  • Coordinate with project manager and project director to set timelines, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Build internal team capacity to lead math unit implementation with the field.
  • Analyze needs assessments and conduct educator surveys to gather feedback on new materials.
  • Demonstrate strong project management and team leadership skills.
