Job summary

RFCUNY Research Foundation of the City University of New York seeks a part‑time math curriculum developer with a language and literacy background to support newcomer students, including ELL cohorts. The role emphasizes developing math units, literacy integration, and scaffolded curricula for SIFE/newcomers.

The position requires experience coaching teachers, leading professional learning, and coordinating with project staff to meet timelines and deliverables.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience teaching math at the secondary level.
• 3+ years experience teaching literacy.
• 3+ years experience working with and teaching English Language Learners and preferably SIFE or newcomers and LTELs.
• Knowledge and experience with curriculum development and design, including backwards design.
• Ability to integrate feedback from a variety of stakeholders into deliverables.
• Experience working with external stakeholders and as part of collaborative team.
• Experience coaching and working with teachers.
• facilitating adult learning.
• Willingness to give and receive feedback on work and to revise in response to feedback.
• Facility with technology and online content dissemination.

Responsibilities

• Revise two units of study based on sponsor and review feedback, including teacher lessons and student materials.
• Coordinate with project manager and staff to set up timelines, deliverables, milestones.
• Build capacity of internal team for math unit implementation in the field.
• Analyze needs assessments, conduct educator surveys, collect feedback on new materials.
• Demonstrate project management and leadership as a team leader or equivalent.
• Coaching teachers and leading professional learning seminars, developing curricula with scaffolds.
