Job summary

City of West Haven is seeking a Marketing Content Specialist (Part-Time, not to exceed 19 hours per week) to craft and edit content for digital campaigns across websites, emails, and social channels.

You will work with the Office of the Mayor and Communications team to plan editorial calendars, publish content, and analyze performance while ensuring AP style consistency and high-quality visuals using Canva and Adobe tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, English, communications or a related field.
• Three years of digital marketing experience or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Experience creating digital content for campaigns and channels.

Responsibilities

• Create digital content including video creation and editing.
• Optimization of new and existing digital content across websites, emails and social media.
• Editing to adhere to a style guide (AP) for consistency.
• Create editorial calendars for short- and long-term planning.
• Publish and promote content across channels.
• Monitor content performance using data analytics.
• Assist in coordinating newsletters, brochures and calendars for events.
• Assist in writing news releases.
• Coordinate outside printing projects such as brochures and schedules.
• Assist in coordinating and producing marketing videos and videography.
