Job summary

Wellstar Cobb Breast and X-Ray Center in Georgia is seeking a part-time Mammography Technologist to deliver high-quality imaging while keeping patients informed and comfortable. You will perform mammography exams per physician order, ensure privacy, and maintain accuracy in labeling and documentation.

The role requires ARRT-R and ARRT-M certification, BLS, and at least one year of radiologic and mammography experience in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Minimum 1 year of Radiologic Technologist experience.
• Minimum 1 year of mammography experience in a hospital.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography exams per physician order and verify patient identity.
• Gather history, screen contraindications, and explain the exam to reduce anxiety.
• Protect patient privacy, dignity, and comfort during positioning.
• Review images for quality and maintain first-time acceptance.
• Use clinical judgment, clarify unclear orders, and assist in emergencies.
• Operate equipment safely, optimize dose, keep area clean per guidelines.
• Perform QC tests including phantom, visual checks, and calibration.
• Label, orient, and document images in PACS/RIS; daily charge capture.
• Keep the mammography suite clean and stocked; apply shielding as needed.
• Provide pre- and post-exam instructions and train new team members.
• Maintain timely documentation and stay current with required education.
• Communicate professionally and work well in a fast-paced team.
