Job summary

The Arc of Centre County in Bellefonte, PA, seeks a Part-Time General Maintenance Technician to keep residential homes and the main office safe, functional, and welcoming. You will tackle general repairs, painting, grounds work, and routine inspections to support individuals with IDD and Autism.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Driver's License.
• At least 3 years of experience in general maintenance; 5 years preferred.
• Working knowledge of general repairs, tools and maintenance equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow tasks through to completion.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize assignments, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to perform physical duties including lifting, carrying, kneeling, twisting, and shoveling.
• Basic computer skills for email, timekeeping, documentation, and ordering supplies.
• Schedule flexibility to cover maintenance needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, or after-hours emergency response.

Responsibilities

• Performing general maintenance, household repairs, painting, pressure washing, and building upkeep.
• Completing grounds maintenance, including lawn care, flowerbed upkeep, and snow removal.
• Participating in monthly property inspections and identifying maintenance needs.
• Responding to maintenance requests, tracking completed work, and communicating updates to staff.
• Monitoring maintenance supplies and helping obtain materials at cost-effective prices.
• Following safety requirements and maintaining accessible environments for residents.
• Communicating with supervisors and program staff to coordinate repairs and follow-up.
