Community Options, Inc. is hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician in Pottsville, PA. The role maintains residential homes, facilities, and vehicles, repairing issues, completing regular maintenance plans, and collaborating with local management to contract external contractors.

Starting pay is $20.00 per hour. You will develop maintenance schedules, perform repairs, and ensure tasks are conducted safely and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with three years of maintenance experience.
• Ability to work with hands and power tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Develop a schedule of basic maintenance tasks.
• Complete required maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
• Ensure repairs are safe and compliant with local laws and regulations.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and structural components.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks including painting, spackling, and electrical/plumbing work.
• Advise management when outside contractors are needed.
• Review contractor estimates for accuracy and costs.
• Cooperate with inspectors and staff during inspections or investigations.

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 11 states. We are now hiring an experienced Maintenance Technician in Pottsville, PA. The Maintenance Technician maintains residential homes, facilities, and vehicles. This person is responsible for repairing issues that arise, completing regular maintenance plans, and working with local management to contract external contractors.

Starting pay is $20.00/ per hour

Responsibilities

• Develop a schedule of basic maintenance tasks
• Complete required maintenance tasks in a timely manner
• Ensure repairs are made timely in a way that is safe and in compliance with the local laws and regulations
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems and structural components includingappliances, fans, lights, flooring, carpets, paneling, doors, etc.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks including painting, spackling, and basic electrical or plumbingwork
• Advise management when an outside contractor may be necessary
• Review contractor estimates to ensure they accurately reflect the required repairs and reasonable job costs
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
• Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with three years of maintenance experience
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Complete all state and agency required training per state guidelines
• Ability to work safely with hands and power tools
• Experience with problem solving against multiple priorities
• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
