Job summary

The St. James in Bethesda, MD is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its Bethesda Performance Club. You will maintain safety, functionality, and the overall appearance of the facility while handling daily work orders and preventive maintenance.

This part-time role fits 20–25 hours weekly with evening and weekend availability. You'll diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical and related systems, while managing parts inventory and supporting events.

Qualifications

General maintenance experience required.
Working knowledge of light carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Strong understanding of safety procedures and safe work practices.
Dependable, organized, and able to meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to flex schedule to accommodate evenings and weekends.
Professional communication skills.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and perform routine maintenance and repairs in a timely and professional manner.
Complete service requests daily and document all work performed, including parts used.
Follow up on incomplete work orders to ensure timely resolution.
Maintain positive and professional relationships with members, guests, vendors, contractors, and team members.
Inspect facility spaces daily using checklists and communicate repair needs to management.
Ensure all spaces are maintained to company standards and prepared for daily operations.
Perform daily building and common area upkeep.
Execute assigned preventive maintenance programs and maintain accurate records.
Order parts and supplies while maintaining organized and cost effective inventory.
Maintain engineering and maintenance areas to company standards.
Support facility events and special projects as assigned.
