Job summary

Pikes Peak Post Acute in Oregon seeks an experienced LPN/LVN to provide direct nursing care to residents and supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. You will ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and uphold high quality care under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services.

The role requires strong leadership, the ability to plan and coordinate staffing, and ongoing documentation according to Nursing Service Procedures Manual.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN program.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an LPN/LVN in this state.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must demonstrate leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
  • Ensure that all nursing service personnel comply with the policies and procedures established by this facility.
  • Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel to ensure adequate nursing services for residents.
  • Greet residents upon admission and escort them to their rooms as necessary.
  • Carry out restorative and rehabilitative programs, to include self-help and care.
  • Inform nursing personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment, etc.
  • Admit, transfer and discharge residents as necessary.
