Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Ensure that all nursing personnel comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
• Periodically review the department's policies, procedure manuals, and job descriptions; make revisions as needed.
• Plan shifts, services, programs, and activities in collaboration with staff and support personnel.
• Maintain current Nursing Service Procedures Manual and ensure compliance.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and facility surveys by governing agencies.
