Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking a licensed practical nurse (LPN) for on-site, part-time care in Canton, OH. The LPN provides skilled nursing under RN supervision, supports patient education, and ensures documentation and safety compliant with ACH standards.

Responsibilities include data collection, planning and implementing patient care, managing medications, producing timely communications to providers, and collaborating with the care team. Ohio LPN licensure and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited LPN program.
• Current, valid LPN license in Ohio.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Minimum one year of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate nursing care under supervision of RN or designated provider.
• Collect and monitor patient data, including labs, and communicate changes to the provider.
• Develop and implement care and discharge plans under RN direction; assist with ADLs and hygiene.
• Safely administer medications and treatments, monitor for adverse reactions, and follow orders.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health, treatments, and self-care.
• Document all aspects of patient care per hospital policies.
• Maintain safety and a clean environment; report safety concerns.
• Collaborate with the care team and engage in ongoing education and development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
