Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for Part-Time Days. As a Charge Nurse - LPN, you will provide skilled nursing care to residents and supervise nursing assistants across our Iowa communities.

You will conduct assessments, administer medications, oversee IV therapy where permitted, and coordinate care with physicians and the care team to support each resident’s health goals.

Qualifications

• Valid LPN license in good standing, Iowa.
• Current CPR certification.
• State-approved LPN Supervisory Course or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Knowledge of federal/state long-term care regulations and laws.
• Strong empathy, respect, patience and discretion in care.

Responsibilities

• Assess residents' clinical status, vital signs, and contribute to care planning with the interdisciplinary team.
• Deliver and oversee direct nursing care, including wound care and IV therapy where permitted.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor responses, and document accurately.
• Coordinate resident care on the unit; communicate with physicians, leadership, residents and families.
• Supervise, mentor, and support CNAs and other staff to ensure high-quality care.
• Ensure adherence to regulations, infection prevention, and Care Initiatives policies.
• Provide education and emotional support to residents and families.
