Job summary

Newhaven Display in Elgin, IL is seeking a high-energy purchasing assistant who will coordinate shipments from international suppliers and support the Purchasing Manager.

You will plan orders, track production, maintain documentation, and collaborate with Customer Service and Quality to ensure on-time delivery.

Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems is expected; NetSuite is a plus. This is a part-time on-site role with 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM hours.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher with at least 2 years in purchasing/logistics.
• Experience communicating with suppliers and carriers by email/phone.
• Strong critical thinking, prioritization, detail orientation, and follow-up.
• Proficiency in MS Office and ERP/Inventory systems; NetSuite a plus.
• Knowledge of international logistics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate movement of products from international suppliers.
• Plan shipments, monitor progress, and maintain vital documentation.
• Work with Purchasing Manager and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Track production status and update internal database with timelines.
• Coordinate shipment instructions and import documentation.
• Reconcile supplier invoices and ensure accurate payments.
