Job summary

TK Health is seeking a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join the Bowie County Jail team in Texarkana, Texas. This part‑time role (~20 hours per week) offers meaningful clinical work within a correctional health setting and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Ideal candidates hold an LMHC (or equivalent) license in Texas and a Master’s degree in a behavioral health field, with experience in crisis intervention, suicide risk assessment, substance use counseling, and case

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, clinical psychology, counseling, psychiatric nursing, or related behavioral health field.
• Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) or equivalent license required.
• Active licensure in Texas for behavioral health practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess psychiatric emergencies and provide crisis intervention.
• Conduct suicide risk assessments and interventions.
• Provide substance use and MAT counseling.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for behavioral health needs.
• Coordinate care with medical, correctional, and behavioral health staff.
• Make referrals for psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
• Help connect patients with community mental health resources.
• Maintain clinical documentation and participate in on-call coverage.
