Job summary

Peabody Public Schools in Peabody, MA seeks a Literacy Tutor Reading/Writing (Title I grant-funded) to start immediately. This part-time role supports at-risk students, 19.5 hours weekly, at $25.00 per hour, through the end of the current school year.

• Bachelor's degree preferred, minimum in education or related field.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative problem solving skills.
• Experience with general education students and applying best teaching practices.
• Ability to plan student lessons and work independently with individuals and groups.
• Commitment to district goals and school improvement plans.
• Bilingualism is highly desired but not required.

Responsibilities

• Instruct at-risk individuals or small groups using prepared lesson plans.
• Facilitate instructional programs under supervision of teachers and Title I Director.
• Document student performance and progress with teachers and program requirements.
• Plan instructional activities and administer assessments with classroom teachers.
• Meet with staff to coordinate interdisciplinary programs and activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by building principal or designee.
