Job summary

Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, IL is hiring a Line Cook to join our culinary team. You will set up stations, prepare and cook to order, reheat items per daily rotations, and ensure excellent presentation of all dishes. You’ll also restock and maintain prep, following standard recipes and production sheets.

The role requires strong knife skills, the ability to work under pressure, and clear communication with teammates and guests. A flexible schedule including holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Must possess basic knife skills.
• Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to interface with guests and team members.
• Ability to work under pressure and with a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and breaks down station as per production sheet.
• Prepares and cooks items to specification as ordered by the customer.
• Reheats soups, sauces, and other items per daily menus rotations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of all prepared foods.
• Cooks the exact number of items ordered, handling multiple orders simultaneously.
• Restocks station and maintains prep for station and salad bar.
• Meets or exceeds daily prep lists; may perform buffet or production cook duties.
