Job summary

The St. James Hotel in Red Wing, MN is seeking a skilled Cook to join our culinary team.

As a Line Cook, you will assist the Chef in preparing and executing delicious meals according to our seasonal menus while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness and safety. Qualifications

• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work safely in a kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques.
• Understanding of standardized recipes and cooking terminology.
• Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, and volume.
• Familiarity with food allergens and dietary restrictions.
• Attention to detail and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods for daily service per seasonal menus and health/sanitation guidelines.
• Cook hot and cold food products accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in final plate preparation, plating and garnishing.
• Ensure proper portioning and cooking of all menu items.
• Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary kitchen.
• Communicate with the Chef to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Address guest complaints professionally.
