Job Overview

Line Cooks are responsible for ensuring the quality preparation of all menu items and proper handling/storage of all food items. Preparation occurs under the supervision of the Sous Chef and Executive Chef.

Sous Chef

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and present food in various stations of a large commercial kitchen: pantry, sauté, grill.
  2. Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency according to guest specifications.
  3. Participate in cleaning kitchen areas and equipment.
  4. Assist with proper storage, preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items.
  5. Help in food preparation ahead of service hours.
  6. Follow all safety guidelines, including safe handling of food, knife safety, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
Qualifications
  1. Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  2. Punctuality and reliable attendance.
  3. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with co-workers and the public.
  4. Ability to communicate verbally in English.
  5. Ability to read written instructions in English.
  6. Experience with various cooking methods such as sautéing, braising, frying, poaching, roasting, etc.
  7. Previous kitchen experience required.
  8. Ability to work in a clean, organized manner adhering to safe food handling practices.
  9. Ability to work in a hot kitchen environment.
  10. Active Food Handler certificate preferred.
