Position Type: Part-Time (Hours Vary)

Department: Habilitation

Reports To: Manager of Respite and Community Outreach

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt | Overtime Eligible

At St. Joseph Home, we believe in creating a compassionate, safe, and enriching environment for the individuals we serve. We are currently seeking a dedicated and safety-focused Lifeguard to join our team. If you're a certified lifeguard with a passion for helping others and making an impact, we’d love to meet you!

What You’ll Do

• Monitor the health and safety of residents during swim sessions.
• Be actively present on deck to ensure safe and inclusive pool activities.
• Intervene quickly and appropriately in emergencies, including providing CPR.
• Assist residents with safe lifting, transfers, and positioning in and out of the pool.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding pool conditions and safety concerns.
  
  

What You Bring

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current Lifeguard Certification required.
• Must have CPR and First Aid Training.
• Hold and maintain one of the following:
• Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification
• Senior Lifesaving Certificate
• Adapted Aquatics Certification
• Comfortable working as part of a team in a supportive, mission-driven environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs independently and assist with lifts up to 120 lbs.
  

Working Conditions

• Indoor pool environment (hot and humid).
• Variable hours including evenings and weekends.
• Exposure to loud noise, bodily fluids, and unpredictable situations.
• No travel required.
