Purpose of the Position

The lifeguard's primary role is to ensure the safety of patrons and participants by enforcing facility policies, preventing accidents, and maintaining certifications and physical fitness standards. All staff must attend mandatory training sessions and meetings.

Primary Responsibilities

• Facility supervision and maintenance
• Educating guests on rules and regulations
• Following verbal and written instructions
• Removing safety hazards
• Completing required records and daily cleaning
• Punctual attendance and communication
• Attending all in-service trainings

Qualifications

• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified with CPR/AED for the professional rescuer or YMCA Lifeguard Certified with ASHI CPR/AED and Standard First Aid
• Bloodborne Pathogens and Emergency Oxygen certifications highly recommended
• Water Safety Instructor certification a plus
• Pre-employment criminal background check required
