Job summary

H. Guy Child Elementary is seeking a part-time Lifeskills Special Education Paraprofessional to support teachers in supervising and instructing students with special needs. The role includes classroom clerical tasks, data collection, and assisting with daily living activities under teacher direction.

Position features a 180-day calendar with 5.75 hours per day (28.75 hours/week). Starting date is immediate; emergency hire possible; funding subject to availability.

Qualifications

• Experience or ability to work with Special Education Lifeskills students.
• Ability to assist with daily living and health care needs as required.
• Ability to supervise students in classrooms and on campus.

Responsibilities

• Assist assigned teaching personnel in supervising and instructing students.
• Perform classroom clerical tasks such as scheduling and data collection.
• Support personal care and daily living skills development for students.
• Maintain student files/records and document activities.
• Monitor students in classroom, library, and playground for safety.
• Assist with routine health and safety-related tasks as needed.
• Adapt to changing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Attend work regularly and punctually.
