Job summary

Concord Community Schools is seeking a Life Skills Special Education Paraprofessional at Concord High School.

The role is classified, 35 hours per week with benefits offered, reporting to the Building Principal(s) and Life Skills Teacher of Record. You will support students with moderate to severe disabilities, implementing IEP goals, and assisting across classroom, school, and community environments.

Qualifications

• Strong communication abilities and reliable teamwork are essential for daily classroom support.
• Ability to follow written and spoken instructions and implement adaptive strategies for diverse learners.
• Capacity to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in a school setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional and classroom support to students with disabilities.
• Implement IEP-specified accommodations and supports identified by licensed staff.
• Assist with functional academics, communication, daily living skills, and mobility.
• Support students with personal care needs while protecting privacy and dignity.
• Implement behavior plans and crisis-prevention procedures as directed by staff.
• Maintain student safety and positive supervision during activities and transitions.
• Support communication through AAC devices and structured communication systems.
• Record and track student performance data as directed.
