Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be able to assume and maintain a variety of postures (kneeling, squatting, bending, standing, and sitting in student-size chairs) for extended periods of time.
• Safely manage physical or verbally aggressive students.
• Participate with students in physical fitness activities including walking, stretching, and aerobic exercise.

Responsibilities

• Adapt classroom work under the direction of the teacher to support and reinforce lesson plans.
• Assist other personnel as needed to support their work activities.
• Implement instructional behavioral programs under supervision to improve students' academic success.
• Maintain students' files/records for documentation and data collection.
• Monitor individual students in classroom, library, or playground to ensure a safe learning environment.
• Perform record keeping and clerical functions to support the teacher and administrator.
