Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a part-time Optical Sales Associate to assist customers with frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions, and dispense eyewear. You will ensure privacy, insurance information accuracy, and maintain dispensing standards while following health and safety guidelines.

The role requires state ophthalmic dispensing licensure, HS diploma, and strong customer service skills. On-site work with opportunities for training and advancement within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Must hold applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Ability to explain optical products and interpret prescriptions.
• Ability to communicate with doctors and labs to ensure accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in frame and lens selection.
• Ensure social distancing and hygiene practices.
• Provide accurate product information regarding frames, lenses and services.
• Explain insurance benefits and charges not covered by insurance.
• Utilize SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and recommend lenses.
• Analyze and interpret prescriptions; coordinate with Lab and Optometrist.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with accurate measurements.
• Maintain a clean dispensing area and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Maintain license requirements per state guidelines.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices where applicable.
• Adhere to HIPAA and company policies; partake in training and facility maintenance.
• Complete additional responsibilities as business needs change.
