Job summary

Visionworks is seeking a part-time Frame and Lens Technician to assist customers with selecting eyewear, fitting and dispensing frames, and interpreting prescriptions to ensure accurate product recommendations. You will work with insurance information, maintain privacy, and adhere to HIPAA requirements while following safety and social distancing protocols.

The role requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.

Qualifications

• Assists customers with frame and lens selection and explains options.
• Interprets prescriptions and coordinates with labs and optometrists for accuracy.
• Ensures privacy and HIPAA compliance and adheres to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist each customer in frame and lens selection meeting social distance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing, cleaning protocols and hygiene practices.
• Provide customers with accurate product information regarding frames, lens selections and other services.
• Provide customers covered by Third Party insurance with accurate information regarding benefits to ensure proper selection of frames and lenses.
• Utilize the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and establish proper lens recommendations.
• Analyze and interpret patients’ prescriptions; communicate with Lab and Optometrist to ensure accuracy of prescription.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and other accessories with accurate measurements and adjustments.
• Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
• Responsible for the accuracy of customer pricing for the retail customer.
• Maintain license requirements per State Guidelines.
