Job summary

Nashua Public Library is seeking a part-time Security Guard to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for staff and patrons. The role involves patrolling the library, responding to incidents, and coordinating with police and fire departments when needed.

Candidates should have strong public-facing experience, be able to enforce policies, and handle disturbances. An Associate’s degree with related experience or a high school diploma with more extensive security experience is required;

Qualifications

• Experience working directly with the public and enforcing policies.
• Associate’s degree plus 1 year security or related social services experience OR high school diploma plus 3 years related experience.
• Bilingual candidates strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol building and grounds to maintain safety and security.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents; document them.
• Open and close the facility and provide general operations support.
• Act as liaison with police and fire departments when needed.
