Job summary

Neill Public Library in Pullman, WA, is seeking a friendly Reference Assistant for Circulation & Reference. This part-time role (8-16 hours/week) offers year-round flexibility to cover evenings and weekends. You will work at the service desk, help patrons, shelve materials, and support reference inquiries.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year library or public/customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior library computer systems experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Staff the service desk and assist patrons with inquiries.
• Shelve materials and keep public areas tidy.
• Assist patrons with online resources and reference queries.
• Handle cash payments and fines when applicable.
• Attend staff meetings and follow supervisor directions.
