Job summary

Raleigh Public Library is seeking a Page to perform daily tasks supporting library materials. The role requires reading regular print, dependable attendance, and physical ability to stand, lift up to 40 pounds, and maneuver carts up to 200 pounds.

Schedule includes Mon, Wed, Fri afternoons and every other Saturday; some mornings or evenings may occur. At 18+ years old, applicants work with the library computer system to check in/out materials and reshelve items, helping maintain clean, organized

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Schedule may include morning, afternoon, evening and holiday shifts.
• Temporary positions do not include benefits such as insurance, sick leave or vacation leave.

Responsibilities

• Sort and shelve library materials in alphabetic and numerical order.
• Keep shelves in an orderly and accurate condition and shift the collection as needed.
• Retrieve materials from book returns and check in using the library system.
• Maintain the appearance of public areas by reshelving materials.
• Box and unbox library materials and assist with book donations.
