Job summary

The St. Louis Public Library’s Charing Cross location seeks a Circulation Assistant to support customers with card registration, borrowing, and returns. The role requires a friendly, patient team player who can handle multiple tasks while delivering excellent service.

Part-time position with a daytime schedule Tuesday through Saturday, 9:45 AM – 2:45 PM, with occasional Sundays at Schlafly location. Benefits include medical, dental, life insurance, vacation, holidays, and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Comfort with using and learning new technology as the library evolves.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with library card registration and checking out and returning materials.
• Assist in preparation, delivery, and receipt of library materials; receive payment from customers.
• Provide assistance to customers with library equipment.
• Restock and shelve materials, including shelf-reading, as necessary.
• Assist in opening and closing the location.
