Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred; municipal library experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet patrons at the circulation desk and provide courteous, professional assistance with library services.
• Check out library materials, manage study room reservations, and issue new library cards.
• Collect payments for printing, copying, fines, and other applicable fees following cash handling procedures.
• Assist patrons with the use of computers, printers, fax machines, and other library technology resources.
• Shelve returned materials, process book drops, and conduct shelf reading to maintain an organized collection.
• Support library programs by preparing materials, creating book displays, facilitating storytime sessions, and assembling take-home kits.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including minor book repairs, equipment cleaning, and monitoring circulating hotspots.
• Provide Spanish translation support for policies, newsletters, and other library communications as needed.
