Qualifications

• Must have completed 10th grade and be at least 16 years old.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with library operations.
• Knowledge of Dewey Decimal system and alphabetizing.
• Ability to interact positively with patrons and staff.
• Must be able to push carts and handle light physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Arrange materials alphabetically and numerically on carts.
• Shelve new items and returned materials; remove from book drop.
• Search holds and locate items; assist with lost or missing materials.
• Perform shelf-reading, straighten and dust shelves.
• Provide general and directional patron assistance.
• Perform minimal clerical and computer tasks.
• Monitor email and intranet announcements.
• Close tasks by reshelving items and tidy areas.
• Assist with shifting the collection as needed.
• Adhere to safety and security protocols.
