Job summary

Scott County Library System is seeking a Branch Associate for the Walcott location. The role focuses on high-quality customer service at a library desk, routine circulation tasks, and assisting patrons with library services.

The position averages 7 hours per week at $16.66 per hour, with a regular schedule on Tuesdays 2-7 and alternating Saturdays 9-1. Based primarily in Walcott, opportunities may occur at other branches.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of two years of customer service skills required.
• Proficiency with computers and ability to operate office equipment.
• Ability to provide high quality customer service to patrons of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct high quality customer service.
• Handles patron services including library card registration, book requests, search and retrieval, check in/out, and computer troubleshooting.
• Learns and applies Scott County Library System policies and procedures.
• Maintains records including statistical data and cash handling.
• Provides reader's advisory services and helps plan programs at the branch.
• Opens and closes assigned branch library.
• Shelves materials accurately and keeps shelves organized; cleans as needed.
• Reports branch issues to supervisor and performs other duties as assigned.
