Job summary

Library Center of the Ozarks in Branson, MO is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to support patrons with locating items, check-out, and returns, and to help with daily operations.

You will use the library system to check materials in/out, process holds, assist with reference questions, and help keep shelves neat. This role requires excellent customer service and basic money handling. Evening shifts may be required, and you may act as person-in-charge during closing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Experience handling money preferred.
• Public library experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with locating items and using library equipment.
• Check materials in/out and process holds using the library system.
• Collect fines/fees via point-of-sale software.
• Support reference and readers' advisory questions.
• Maintain neat, orderly library spaces and assist with programs.
• Open/close procedures and act as person-in-charge during evening shifts.
• Accept payments and reconcile money collected.
• Follow guidelines on censorship and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned during emergencies.
