Job summary

City of Midlothian is seeking a Library Assistant to provide customer service, manage circulation, and support technology access in the Library Department. This temporary, part-time role includes assisting patrons, guiding self-check stations, handling inquiries, and processing holds and payments.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of customer service; Spanish language skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university is required.
• One (1) year of customer service experience is required.
• Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and library operations.
• Assist with checkouts, holds, returns, and patron accounts.
• Assist patrons with library technology and digital resources.
• Assist with cataloging, weeding, and collection projects.
• Support programming and displays as needed.
• Maintain and repair items and monitor supplies.
