Job summary

Bristol Community College in New Bedford is seeking a Library Assistant I to support access services in the Library Learning Commons. The position handles circulation via Koha, assists with printing, and shares information about tutoring services at multiple Bristol locations.

Evenings and weekends may be required. A reliable commute to campus locations is expected, with a set minimum of 8 hours per week and flexibility for additional shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent by date of hire.
• Ability to work accurately with names, numbers, codes and symbols.
• Communicate effectively in oral expression.
• Deal tactfully with others and maintain harmonious relationships.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons at the public service desk and with printing.
• Perform circulation tasks using Koha ILS.
• Provide information about library and tutoring services.
• Monitor LLC chat and email accounts for accurate info.
• Work evenings and weekends as needed; travel to multiple sites.
