Job summary

Fresno City College is seeking a Librarian for the Part‑Time Faculty Pool to provide technical, reference and instructional services to students and faculty at the West Fresno Campus.

The role includes teaching via Canvas and other online platforms, developing library guides and OER materials, and collaborating with faculty on library policy and budget planning, with services offered in the evening/weekend or remotely as needed.

Qualifications

• Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students.
• Master’s in library science or library and information science.
• California Community College Credential or equivalent education/experience.
• Equivalency must be petitioned if degrees don’t match posted requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide on demand reference and extended research services to students and faculty.
• Conduct bibliographic instruction in classroom environments.
• Develop library guides and OER materials with faculty.
• Promote library resources to campus groups and students.
• Collaborate to establish library policies, procedures, and budget proposals.
• Assist in developing, purchasing, and maintaining library collections.
• Teach library research skills and information literacy using Canvas and online tools.
• Offer services in evenings, weekends, online, or off-campus.
• Maintain effective communication with students and staff.
