Job summary

Pima County's Joel D. Valdez Main Library seeks a part-time Librarian to assist patrons, locate information, and collaborate with staff to provide high-quality library services to diverse communities.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a library-related field and at least two years of relevant experience; MLIS is preferred. The position may involve travel between library locations and occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a library-related field or other specified majors; two years of relevant experience documented in application.
• Preferred MLIS from an ALA-accredited program.
• Bilingual English/Spanish in speaking, reading and writing is preferred.
• Experience developing programs and collaborating on team projects.
• Minimum two years’ experience in libraries, education, or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Oversee assigned service area within a library and develop evidence-based services for diverse patrons.
• Assist the public by locating library and community resources and helping with collections and technology.
• Develop and present educational programs and community outreach activities.
• Supervise volunteers and interns, and coordinate partner organizations.
• Support public service best practices and conflict management as needed.
