Job summary

Iron County School District is seeking a Part Time Level II Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the direction of a Special Education Teacher. The role includes lifting and assisting students, implementing behavior plans, and using adaptive equipment.

You will provide instructional support, observe and record behaviors, help prepare materials, assist with classroom management, and support students with self-care and medical needs.

Qualifications

• No formal degree required; requires ability to assist students with learning activities.
• Ability to lift and assist students and operate adaptive equipment.
• Good communication with students and staff; reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to reinforce learning activities.
• Observe and record behavior; reinforce appropriate behavior.
• Assist certified educators with presentation of learning materials.
• Assist in responsibilities for physical and medical needs.
• Assist in self-care tasks as needed (toileting, bathing, feeding as needed).
• Participate in development and maintenance of classroom management systems.
• Guide students to work and interact harmoniously with peers.
• Supervise students in all areas of the school.
• Operate office equipment such as computers and copy machines.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance and job performance.
• Monitor students inside and outside during lunch hour; be vigilant.
• Work with Google Docs and check email; learn necessary systems.
