Job Summary

The Jindal School of Management Undergraduate Programs seeks part-time lecturers to teach required professional development courses for undergraduate students in the Naveen Jindal School of Management. These courses assist students in understanding their personal brand, researching companies and careers, creating resumes and LinkedIn profiles, developing networking skills, mastering job interview techniques, and acquiring other vital skills for success in internships and job searches. Additionally, the courses emphasize interpersonal communication, business presentation skills, and leveraging artificial intelligence tools to gain a competitive edge in the job market.

Minimum Education and Experience

An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline/topic and a record of productivity and professional achievement.

  • Working knowledge of generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini) in educational or professional contexts
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint or other slide presentation software
Other Qualifications

To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach in-person professional development classes for business school undergraduates.
  • Update weekly PowerPoint presentation decks
  • Maintain contact with student population in the classroom and via electronic learning and communication platforms (Canvas, MS Teams, MS Outlook, etc)
  • Teach students how to use generative artificial intelligence tools to research careers and companies and to strengthen job search portfolios (resumes, LinkedIn, cover letters, elevator pitch, etc.)
  • Hold in-person or virtual office hours for students
  • Manage the work of a teaching assistant (if available)
  • Communicate with the Director of Professional Development regarding student engagement and grading issues
  • Collaborate with the Business Communication Center, the Career Management Center, and the Undergraduate Programs department regarding student engagement opportunities
  • Contribute assessment information and data as requested through the administration and the Assessment Team
  • Participate in course evaluation surveys.
