San Jose State University’s Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a faculty position teaching undergraduate mathematics and mathematics education, supervising student teachers, and contributing to inclusive instruction.

Candidates should hold an MS or MA in math (or applied math or statistics) and a California single-subject credential, with experience in high school and college math, and familiarity with Canvas.

Responsabilidades

• Teach undergraduate mathematics and mathematics education courses and supervise student teachers.
• Demonstrate awareness and experience in addressing the needs of a diverse student population—across age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, academic preparation—and incorporate inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.
• Organize all classes within Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Ensure all classes meet as scheduled throughout the semester or term in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in‑person, or hybrid).

Department Summary

The department of Mathematics and Statistics at SJSU has 4 undergraduate programs and 3 graduate programs. In addition, we also train students who are pursuing a single subject credential in Mathematics.

Brief Description of Duties

• Teach undergraduate mathematics and mathematics education courses and supervise student teachers. We seek faculty who can employ high‑impact pedagogical approaches and possess strong mathematical backgrounds and abilities.
• Demonstrate awareness and experience in addressing the needs of a diverse student population—across age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, academic preparation—and incorporate inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.
• Organize all classes within Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Ensure all classes meet as scheduled throughout the semester or term in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in‑person, or hybrid).

Compensation

Compensation and salary range placement are determined by qualifications and experience.

• L‑A / Range 2 – $5,507 – $5,959
• L‑B / Range 3 – $6,221 – $7,481
• L‑C / Range 4 – $6,825 – $9,431
• L‑D / Range 5 – $8,593 – $10,347
