Department Summary

The department of Mathematics and Statistics at SJSU has 4 undergraduate programs and 3 graduate programs. In addition, we also train students who are pursuing a single subject credential in Mathematics.

Brief Description of Duties
  • Teach undergraduate mathematics and mathematics education courses and supervise student teachers. We seek faculty who can employ high‑impact pedagogical approaches and possess strong mathematical backgrounds and abilities.
  • Demonstrate awareness and experience in addressing the needs of a diverse student population—across age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, academic preparation—and incorporate inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.
  • Organize all classes within Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).

Compensation

Compensation and salary range placement are determined by qualifications and experience.

  • L‑A / Range 2 – $5,507 – $5,959
  • L‑B / Range 3 – $6,221 – $7,481
  • L‑C / Range 4 – $6,825 – $9,431
  • L‑D / Range 5 – $8,593 – $10,347
