Qualifications

• MS or MA in mathematics (or applied mathematics or statistics).

• Experience teaching college math courses.
• Knowledge of the requirements involved in student teaching for the credential program.
• Expertise in CalTPA, the Teaching Performance Assessment required by student teachers.
• Evidence of good oral and written communication skills.
• Commitment to student learning and team performance.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural population.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate mathematics and mathematics education courses and supervise student teachers.
• Demonstrate awareness and experience in addressing the needs of a diverse student population—across age, cultural background, ethnicity, primary language, academic preparation—and incorporate inclusive course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.
• Organize all classes within Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
• Ensure all classes meet as scheduled throughout the semester or term in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, bichronous, in‑person, or hybrid).
