Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs in both special and general education settings. This is a part-time, 4-hour-per-day position, 180 days per year, with starting pay of $15.46 per hour; actual rate upon hire will reflect knowledge and experience.

The role requires teamwork, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently within assigned duties, with strong organizational and communication skills in a school setting.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school.
• Experience working with school age children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with planning and implementing strategies for student success.
• Maintains up-to-date records describing student programs.
• Supports development and implementation of IEPs.
• Collaborates with teachers to adapt programs to student needs.
• Assists with classroom activities and monitoring assignments.
• Assists in evaluating student performance in general settings.
• Acts as liaison between general and special education teachers.
• Assists in supporting general education students as assigned.
• Monitors behavioral support plans and reinforces accordingly.
• Supervises students with special needs in common areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned by teachers or principals.
• Maintains Professional Development hours as required.
