Job summary

Patch Caregiving is seeking a part-time Lead Teacher to manage a play-based, multi-age care room for children ages 2–12. Responsibilities include leading activities, implementing curriculum, communicating with parents, and maintaining a safe, tidy space.

You'll work day shifts (roughly 10 am–4 pm) at sites in Middletown, Allentown, Bethlehem, and Shippensburg, PA. Some locations require compliance checks and immunization protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year as Lead Teacher in daycare/preschool or similar setting.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate learning.
• Experience with diapering and toddler diapering best practices.
• Support for toilet training and various stages of development.
• Strong communication with children and parents.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviors with patience and positivity.
• Comfort with digital tools for parent/staff communication.
• First Aid & CPR certification (training can be provided before start).
• Some sites may require drug, TB tests and immunization records.
• Some states require background checks and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and wellbeing of all children in the care room.
• Lead age-appropriate activities and manage group dynamics with empathy.
• Communicate regularly with parents and handle emergencies calmly.
• Plan and implement curriculum and hands-on activities.
• Maintain records, paperwork, and a clean, organized space.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and the Center Director.
• Participate in ongoing training and occasional enrollment/outreach events.
