Job summary

Penn Medicine Doylestown Health is seeking a part-time Lactation Consultant nurse to enhance lactation care in the in-patient setting. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop breastfeeding plans, provide education, and support families through discharge planning and follow-up.

The role requires a nursing degree with ICN experience and applicable licensure, plus IBLCE certification within 18 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in nursing and 2+ years Intensive Care Nursery (ICN) Experience.
• Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) licensure.
• International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners Certification (within 18 months of hire date)

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to develop plans of care for breastfeeding families.
• Performs consultations at appropriate intervals and anticipates patient discharge with a plan of care.
• Provides telephone guidance to pregnant and lactating women and refers to appropriate programs.
• Mentors Lactation Interns and orients new nursing staff to infant feeding policies.
• Supports Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative and UPHS core values; ensures confidentiality and proper documentation.
• Delivers direct care across ages from infancy to middle adulthood.
