Job summary

Peralta Community College District is seeking qualified Part-Time Faculty members to provide high-quality instruction and student support in accordance with the District's mission of advancing equity, student success, and academic excellence. Assignments are made on an as-needed basis and may include day, evening, weekend, online, or hybrid classes at any of the District's colleges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and two years of professional experience in Labor Studies/Labor Relations.
• Or an associate degree and six years of professional experience in Labor Studies/Labor Relations.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive teaching practices.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in accordance with approved course outlines and student learning outcomes.
• Prepare and deliver engaging, student-centered instruction using evidence-based teaching practices.
• Develop and maintain course syllabi, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate academic records.
• Submit grades and other required reports by deadlines.
• Create an inclusive, respectful learning environment for diverse students.
• Maintain regular communication with students and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Utilize learning management systems and instructional technologies as appropriate.
• Comply with District policies, bargaining agreements, accreditation standards, and regulations.
• Participate in department meetings, professional development, and other college activities.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Labor Studies/Labor Relations

Two years of professional experience in Labor Studies/Labor Relations

Associate degree and six years of professional experience in Labor Studies/Labor Relations
